History

Our Story

C & B Equipment, LLC started with one location in 1988, in Gettysburg, SD, when Dan Cronin and Rod Burwell made the decision to purchase the local John Deere dealership. In their first year of supporting the farmers, ranchers and local community, devastation hit when the owner suddenly passed away. Fast forward to 2022, and C & B has evolved to become one of the largest and most recognized John Deere dealership groups, operating 37+ stores in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho.

Building on our founders’ original commitment, C & B continues to honor Dan Cronin and Rod Burwell through the company name, vision and mission. Today, C & B remains family-owned and led by Rod Burwell’s sons, Peter, Blake and Michael.

In 2021, C & B expanded into the Material Handling and Powersports divisions, adding 11 Material Handling locations and one Powersports location.

Our company started on and continues to operate with three things in mind: honesty, ethics and hard work.
